Erachi / Meat Pathiri is a favourite Nombuthura Snack.
Ingredients
Minced meat | ½ cup |
Onions, finely chopped | 1 cup |
Ginger, crushed | 1 piece |
Garlioc, crushed | 8 |
Green chillies, finely chopped | 5 |
Coriander leaves,chopped | 2tbsp |
Turmeric powder | ½ tsp |
Oil | To fry |
Egg | 2 |
Sugar | 1tsp |
Maida | 1 cup |
Salt | To taste |
Cardamom Powder | ½ tsp |
Method
*Cook the meat / minced meat along with salt and turmeric powder. If minced meat is not available mince the whole meat after boiling.
*In a pan add oil and saute onions, ginger, garlic and green chillies.
*When onion turns brown add the minced meat,salt and cook till dry.
*Add coriander leaves and keep aside.
*Knead the Maida/ Atta flour just like chappathi dough along with salt and roll out pathiris of poori size.
*Take some meat mixture and place on the centre of the pathiri and cover with another pathiri of the same size.(Use a cutter to cut into equal size).
*Press and seal all the edges.
*Beat the egg. sugar and cardamom powder well.
*Using a spoon spread the egg mixture over the pathiri and deep fry in oil.
*Serve hot .
Several layer of steamed pathiri zz a dish in Malabar..since I am a malabari..I had dat delicious tast in ma tounge..long years back.but not so clear about recipe..could u plss provide me th recipe
