Here is a chicken curry which is actually different from that we eat regularly.Here we fry the coconut and add to the chicken pieces and cook which gives a special aroma as well as taste. If you haven’t made it before just try this recipe.
Ingredients

Big onion | 3 |
Tomato | 2 |
Green Chillies | 7 |
Chilly Powder | 2tbs |
Coriander Powder | 4tbs |
Coconut | 1 cup |
Turmeric Powder | 1/2 tsp |
Ginger | 1 big piece |
Garlic | 8-10 |
Coconut Oil | 4tbs |
Garam Masala | 1tsp |
Salt | To Taste |
Curry Leaves | As required |
Small Onion | 2 |
Perumjeerakam | 1/4tsp |
Method
Fry the coconut , small onion and perumjeerakam in 1 tsp oil till dark brown.Add the coriander powder and chilly powder to it and fry for one more minute. Remove from heat and empty the contents to another plate. Marinate chicken with salt, garam masala and turmeric powder .Grind the fried ingredients to a fine paste.In a pan add the remaining oil and a saute the cut onion pieces, green chillies, ginger,garlic and curry leaves. Add the marinated chicken and cook . When it is 90% cooked add the tomato pieces and the ground paste and cook till done. The curry goes well with parotta, chappathi or bread.
