Mutton Varattiyathu

Mutton is an all time favourite of most of the Keralites.During this Ramzan season let me introduce my favourite spicy recipe.Well hope you all will try this and enjoy it.

Ingredients
Mutton Pieces           500gm
Chilly powder            1tbs
Coriander Powder   2tbs
Turmeric Powder    1/4tsp
Pepper powder         1tsp
Ginger Pieces             1tsp
Garlic Pieces              1tsp
Vinegar                        1tbs
Potato                           2
Green Chilly               4Nos
Savala                           1small
Garam masala           1tbs
Salt                                 To taste
Curry leaves
Coconut oil

Method
Grind all the curry powders,garam masala and ginger -garlic with vinegar and some water.Applyabout 3/4th of the paste to the  cut mutton pieces along with salt and keep aside for about an hour.Mean while cut the big onion and fry till light brown in oil.Add the cut green chilly and fry.Now add the remaining paste ,salt and curry leaves.Fry till a fried aroma comes.Now cook the mutton pieces in a cooker.When cooked open the lid and add the cut potato pieces.Cook till it is done.Now add the mutton pieces to the fried masala and mix well. Place the pan over low flame and fry till no water exists and the mixture does not stick to the sides of the pan.
