Parippuvada is a nadan tea time snack which is crispy as well as tasty.It is made with Chana Dal.The Dal is fried in coconut oil with  some ingredients to enhance the taste.Here is the recipe to try out.

Ingredients

Chana Dal-2cups
Onion -1 Big
Ginger – 1 piece
Curry Leaves-1 Spring
Whole Green Chillies-2-3
Whole Red Chillies-2
Asafoetida Powder-2 pinches
Turmeric Powder-1/4tsp
Salt -To taste
Coconut Oil-For deep frying
Method
Soak the dal in water for 4 hours.Drain off the water completely.Add all the ingredients together (except oil ) and grind in a mixer coarsely.While grinding take care not to make it a smooth paste or too coarse. Do not add water while grinding. Make small balls of the ground dal. Flatten it with in your palm.Mean while heat oil in a pan.Add the flattened vadas in hot coconut oil and deep fry.Drain over a kitchen tissue and serve hot with red chilly chutney.
