Payasam or dessert is a sweet dish which is liked by all.We can use different ingredents to prepare payasam.Here we can try broken wheat payasam.It is one of the sweet dish for the Vishu.Try out and taste it.Here is the simple recipe to prepare it.
Broken Wheat 150gms
Jeera Powder 1/2tsp
Cardamom Powder 1/2tsp
Cashew/Rasins To taste
Extract milk from the coconut.Take out 2 cups of first milk,4cups of second milk and 6 cups of third milk.Clean the broken wheat and add the second and third extract of milk and cook in a cooker.Boil the jaggery pieces with 1/2 cup of water and strain to remove the impurites.Add this to the cooked wheat.Keep on stirring. When the mixture almost reaches the required consistency add the first milk extract. Add the jeera powder and cardamom powder.Stir well.Put off the flame when the mixture just begins to boil.Fry the cashew and raisins in ghee and add to the payasam.
